A Trip To Remember : Day 12.

4th November, 2011.
New York.

We got up quite early in the morning. Had a pretty decent breakfast package provided to us by the hotel. Today we had to go to the United Nations. I wasn’t pretty sure about what it was all about but then Dad explained what it was all about. I was extremely happy that there were people from all over the world who came together to maintain world peace and try to enable the people of this world to live in a better place. I greatly respect them all for that.

We reached the place and we were given a really nice tour around the whole place by a member of the staff. We got to see the place where the  General Assembly takes place. We also visited other places inside the building where other meetings and important assemblies take place. It was really cool to be in the same room where really influential people from across the globe met.

We had our lunch and then we drove into Manhattan, straight to one of the Seven Wonders of The Modern World, the tallest building in New York City, the Empire State Building. We went till the 86th floor of this humongous building and it was so cold! We went to the many telescopes placed at different points on that floor and were able to cherish breath taking views of New York City. It was so beautiful, looking down from there, where massive trucks seemed like ants, and enormous bungalows like tiny matchboxes.

After that we went for some shopping and bought ourselves some stuff from one of the malls and then we all went back to the hotel room to enjoy a wonderful game of water rugby in the heated pool of the Marriott Courtyard. Tired after the game, all of us walked up to the rooms, lay down in bed and slept, for the last time during this trip, in the United States Of America.
